Blowout!
I have started a new routine on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I wake up at 4 a.m. and drive over to my friend Josh’s house and then we head over to his brothers house and workout for about 45 minutes - 1 hour. Its a bit tough getting up that early, but exercising in the morning is a lot easier than doing it after work…
Well, last Thursday was the first time we did this and as I was driving down the narrow country road at 4:30 in the morning some kind of horned animal ran into the rear passenger side door of my car at full speed. This thing must have been going fast because it left two huge gouges in the door.
This morning I got up and was on my way to the workout when my front drivers side tire blew out “semi-truck on the freeway” style. I didn’t know those things had so much metal in them, they really hurt if you get your hand on those wires. Good thing I wasn’t going 70 down I-75 when it happened. That could have been ugly.

So there we are in the middle of country bumpkin Florida at 4:30 in the morning trying to change the tire in the dark. Good thing Josh was there, because I have a jack, but no bar to use so it actually jacks it up. I also don’t have a lugnut wrench…
Well everything is going well, we get the blown tire off and the donut on….only problem? my donut is flat. Again, luckily we were only a few miles from Josh’s house so he went home and got his air compressor to pump it back up. We managed to get it all pumped up and ready to go around 5:20.
Now I have to take it over to the tire shop for new tires sometime during work today.
This car has been good, and has gotten me to where I need to go. Somehow it has even managed to survive some long trips that it had no business making (Michigan-Florida, Florida-Alabama, and numerous trips around Florida). But I think it is finally reaching its last leg, this is its way of saying “I’ve had enough Craiger, I’m tired.” She’s drinking more oil than ever and makes a funny noise.
Only trouble is I’m a mere 4 payments away from having it paid off! Ah, if only I had the $800 that I owe on it.
